COL (R) Tom Guthrie was a 28 year Infantryman, serving in Ranger and Light Infantry units for most of his career. He commanded 2-27 Infantry (Wolfhounds), the 196th Infantry Brigade, and was the Chief of Staff for the 25th Infantry Division. He is a veteran of Operation Just Cause (Panama), as well as both Iraq and Afghanistan. He retired in 2013 in Kansas City, KS and is currently the Chief of the Army’s Leader Development Division at Ft Leavenworth, KS. He is married with two kids; his son currently serving as a machine gunner in 2nd Ranger Battalion.
