SGT ALBERT STODDARD WAS BORN, RAISED AND LIVED HIS LIFE IN RICH HILL MISSOURI. DURING WWII HE SERVED AS A TAIL GUNNER IN B 17 FLYING FORTRESS BOMBERS FLYING MISSIONS OVER GERMANY AND OTHER TARGETS IN EUROPE. THE B17 HE WAS IN WAS SHOT DOWN AND LANDED IN FRIENDLY TERRITORY. THE CREW WAS SENT BACK TO ENGLAND AND GIVEN A NEW B17. HE WAS WOUNDED WITH SHRAPNEL, SOME OF WHICH WAS NEVER SURGICALLY REMOVED.
THEIR B 17 SHOT DOWN MULTIPLE TIMES AND ALWAYS GIVEN A NEW BOMBER. ONE OF THOSE TIMES THE CREW WAS A WEEK WALKING TO FRIENDLY TERRITORY.
ALBERT STODDARD WAS BORN JULY 21, 1920 AND PASSED AWAY APRIL 7TH 1969
